Senior Financial & Business Controller

I am currently engaged with FLSmidth in their Group Finance team in Copenhagen (since November 2025 - ongoing). I have been assisting with the preparation and disclosure of their IFRS Annual Report 2025​ and Remuneration Report 2025. The cooperation continues through 2026 with both quarterly Interim Reports, Incentive Programme work and other finance matters.

Before joining FLSmidth I worked almost a year with IKEA Denmark at their DK head office in Taastrup (February - December 2024). The assignment was covering a broader scope and included both team leadership as well as financial controlling & compliance, month- & ÅRL year-end closure, IFRS Group reporting and SAP S/4 HANA hands-on. Supporting and bridging the team in their transformation journey was exciting and gave me a deep insight into the day-to-day challenges and their brilliant cross-teams cooperation towards applying the agreed solutions. No need to say that working for such an iconic and well-known organisation as IKEA was amazing, and the spirit of Ingvar Kamprad was embedded in every cornerstone of the Organisation.


Demant A/S (Oticon) was a very exciting place to work. Over two periods (May - November 2021 & September 2023 - February 2024) I was part of their excellent and highly skilled Group Financial Reporting & Compliance team. The engagements included month- and quarter-end closure, IFRS half-year & IFRS Annual Report 2023, finance projects etc. The presence of Demant Group worldwide as a provider of innovative hearing health care and diagnostic equipment meant close collaboration with finance colleagues around the globe.

I worked with International Rehabilitation Council for Torture Victims (IRCT) for almost 10 years (October 2014 - December 2023). Since our engagement dates back many years, my work with the Organisation includes a broad variety of finance tasks; for example Business Central migration from NAV, preparation of and analysis on monthly financial management report in Power BI, Budget and Annual Report preparation, fundraising calls, donor reporting and facilitating external audit of financial reports for various EC Projects (under the compliance of  EU Annexes and Guidelines) etc. I worked closely together with the finance team to design better and more efficient ways of working.

Being diligent and transparent in everything we did was one of the most important key drivers during my exciting years with the Organisation and I am proud of my contribution to their important work to promote justice and reparations for victims, and to pressure States to end torture. This exciting work also meant corresponding with people and organisations around the world including the absolute highlight - a business travel to the City of Mexico for their tenth Scientific Symposium in December 2016.

As of July 2020 - June 2022 I was engaged by Edition Wilhelm Hansen A/S (EWH). Established in 1857, they are the largest Music Publishing company in Scandinavia and part of Wise Music Group. I assisted with all aspects of Finance & Accounting Services incl. MEC, YE and preparation for external audit, quarterly management reporting to share holder, budget and forecast preparation etc. Being part of this fantastic team gave me a deeper insight into the diligent work with composer copyrights and royalties, but also enlightened and expanded my horizon towards the beautiful classical music, and the creative composers of score music to well-known movies, TV shows and commercials.

Over three interim periods I was engaged by CBRE (PM and GWS Denmark)  in order to assist with property management and the onboarding of new properties, month-end closing incl. SPV reporting package (June - September 2023), business controlling on a number of Danish and International client accounts (December 2017 - November 2018) and various financial matters and analysis within the operation of Facility Management on one of their sites (June 2015 - June 2016).

From  September 2014 - July 2015 I was again engaged by  CSC Danmark A/S (Valby). This time I assisted Nordic Controlling with annual and quarterly test of design and operating effectiveness of processes and controls according to SOX guidelines. 

From November 2012 - March 2013 I was engaged by Nordisk Company A/S (Silkeborg) - the parent company of subsidiaries in Germany and Asia. During my assignment I have primarily assisted the Chief Operating Officer with month end closing procedures inclusive of preparation of the consolidated group reporting package as well as preparation of year-end work papers for the external auditors. Work has been carried out either in Hamborg, Silkeborg or Valby.

From March - December 2012 I was engaged by CSC Danmark A/S (Valby) - a subsidiary of the US NYSE listed company Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC) - in order to assist the CSC Nordic Finance team with various transfer pricing matters inclusive of the yearly update of the transfer pricing defense file. Furthermore I assisted with the preparation inclusive of XBRL filing of the ÅRL (class C) Annual Report 2011/12 for all seven Danish legal entities. During the engagement I was also dedicated other tasks e.g. interim accounting and GAAP compliance in general, analysis of cost efficiency initiatives as well as assisting the CSC Nordic HR team with various analysis regarding employee costs.

From August 2011 - January 2012 I was engaged by the OMX listed company Flügger A/S (Rødovre) in order to prepare and update the transfer pricing defense file for the financial year 2010/11. This project was a follow up on the work performed back in February - April 2010, where I assisted Flügger A/S with review of their business procedures and transfer pricing documentation for the financial year 2009/2010.


From October 2009 (shortly after GAAP Accounting ApS was founded) until June 2010 I was engaged by LM Wind Power Group (formerly known as LM Glasfiber Group) where I assisted the Group Accounting Division with review of monthly management accounts, IFRS-matters inclusive preparation of the IFRS Annual Report 2009 etc. Work was carried out in Jutland and Copenhagen.

The above types of work - with international clients and colleagues - have given me a lot of continued experience with international work relations, which I have enjoyed - and still do - since my early BDO Copenhagen and Sydney days.

Besides working with the above Danish and International companies; I have a number of minor clients - mainly incorporated - which I assist with various accounting, tax and administration matters.

I have been working as an accountant since January 1993 and have broad experience in all aspects of audit and assurance, interim and year-end accounting, SOX test of controls (WT/OE), management reporting, preparation of accounts (IFRS/ÅRL), XBRL filing, corporate tax calculation and reconciliation, preparation of tax return and transfer pricing documentation etc. I participate in various  BEPS seminars in order to follow the C20+ discussions (as well as concerns) on this  new globally approaching  tax world.

 

After 10 years at BDO Copenhagen I was seconded to BDO Sydney, Australia where I worked as an Audit Manager from June 2007 - August 2008.

 

In July 2006 I finalised my thesis on IAS39 "Financial Instruments in the Financial Sector" and got my master degree "MSc in Business Economics and Auditing" from Copenhagen Business School.
